MSS celebrates commitment to the Real Living Wage!

We’re delighted to announce that the employing companies that make up MSS (SDL Surveying Limited, Stonebridge Mortgage Solutions Limited and Revolution Company (Essex) Limited) has this week been accredited as a Real Living Wage Employer.

This commitment means everyone working at MSS receives at least a minimum hourly wage of £9.50 in the UK (£10.85 in London). Both rates are significantly higher than the government minimum for over 25’s, which currently stands at £8.72 per hour. This rate is reviewed annually in November and MSS are committed to moving salaries in line with these changes.

The Real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to what people need to make ends meet. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that choose to take a stand by ensuring their staff earn a wage that meets the costs and pressures they face in their everyday lives. Since 2011 the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 250,000 people and put over £1.3 billion extra into the pockets of low paid workers.

Sarah Tuck, Chief Marketing and People Officer, said of this news “MSS becoming a Real Living Wage employer is not only is it the right thing to do, it makes absolute business sense. It ensures that we attract and retain the best and most motivated staff. We have and want great people here at MSS and along with other benefits such as hybrid working, paid gym memberships and breakfast and lunch provided in our covid secure offices, the Real Living Wage is an excellent way of finding and keeping them.

Laura Gardiner, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: “We’re delighted that MSS has joined the movement of over 7,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.

“They join thousands of small businesses, as well as household names such as Burberry, Barclays, Everton Football Club and many more. These businesses recognise that paying the Real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like MSS, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”

By becoming a Real Living Wage Employer, MSS is living up to its values of Do the Right Thing, Back Each Other and Create a Better Future.
